I've had this ornament forever. I was 5 or 6 when I got it. I think the wife of my dad's boss gave it to me. She gave each of us four kids an ornament. I liked ballet dancers and cats so this one was perfect for me.
I should double check with my mom that I have the story right. At any rate I've had this for a very long time and I've been putting it on a Christmas tree for almost as long as I can remember decorating one.
Yes, you're right! the year you got this was from Sue (Ben's wife). She thought you kids were so cute and sweet and she got each of you a lovely ornament, I sent Amanda and Luke their's from Sue and Ben. I think I might still have Stevie's - she got him a cute little teddy with a ball because Steve was ALWAYS kicking and carrying a ball around. You were 5 at the time. The year you were six, Sue told her good friend Santa Klaus, that you kids needed a visit so he brought you your gifts himself and you were all SO thrilled that he knocked on your door to deliver your lovely gifts (he told us the fireplace was too hot so he knocked instead). He brought you a Barbie convertible car.
ReplyDeleteYou know, now that I think about it, I think that my little "tradition" of getting you kids ornaments each year started here - I don't remember doing that on a regular basis before that year, but afterward, each year I always tried to choose an ornament that represented something you liked or did or accomplished during that year. I guess we can thank Ben and Sue for a lot of good memories.
