Tahoe City 86/365

William's home town is Truckee, but I grew up in Tahoe City.  It's such a nostalgic feeling driving through this town. I have so many memories of the pancake breakfast in the firehouse, the Snow Fest parade, of walking the mile from our house to play on the toys at McDonald's, and so so much more.

After church on Sunday William drove us past my favorite memories.  Our first stop was Rosie's Cafe. Rosie's was the first restaurant I can remember eating in. My mom took me there for breakfast on my 5th birthday. It was my favorite restaurant for years after that.

It actually burned down while we were still living in Tahoe City and I cried. I was so sad to lose my favorite restaurant. After my family moved away from Northern California Rosie's was rebuilt and my parents brought me back for lunch.

I loved this place so much that I named one of my dolls Rosie. Years later I named my daughter Rosie. All because my mother took her baby girl out for breakfast for her 5th birthday.
I still look forward to eating at Rosie's every time I return to Tahoe.

After our drive by Rosie's we took Bonita Rose to the park behind the fire station where I have so many memories playing as a child. She was very fascinated with the lake.

She loved all the rocks on the shore and William helped her pick out three little rocks to take home with us.
The snow in Tahoe was amazing this year. This year was one of their record years for the amount of snow that fell. The snow drifts were huge!
I know this picture isn't a very good one but I just have so much love for this street.
So many memories on this street and with my family in this town. William and I even got married in Tahoe.

As we were leaving I saw a t-shirt that said "Tahoe Soul." I don't know if I have a Tahoe Soul, I don't actually like skiing after all, but I do know that Tahoe will always be in my soul.

  1. I know that feeling. I feel the same way every time I go there. Even when I see things that have changed, a part of me always sees it as it was years ago. I share those same memories with you. After all, Tahoe is where my babies all grew up.
