Pumkin Spiced Latte and Fevers

The other day the kids and I  went to the airport to pick up Nana.  Rosie loves going to the airport. She loves going on trips, but most of all she loves when other people come home from trips.

Also, going to the airport always means a trip to Starbucks.

Don't worry, Rosie does not get a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. But I do, and it's fabulous. The real sign that Autumn has arrived. No matter how warm it still is.

Rosie gets a "pink coffee" which is just warmed milk with raspberry or strawberry in it.

Obi gets a soy "pink coffee" because he doesn't do well with dairy.

Today both the kids have colds and fevers. Their Daddy brought it home for them from one of his trips. He's got one too.

So far I haven't gotten it, but I do have a weird stomach ache from all the weird vitamins and immunity boosters I've been taking.

Don't I have the cutest little sicklings?

It's a scientific fact that the best cure for colds is kisses (well, at least it should be).

Walking and Climbing

Here are two videos for you. The first one I took last night.
The second one I took on May 19th. Obi had just learned to walk and he toddled around like the character "mini me" from Austin Powers.
Now he's so stable on his little feet and can even climb the planter wall!!

Happy First Day of Autumn

For the first day of Autumn we are having Apple Cider in Apple cups.

Also, baked apples from the cups that leaked.

We've been very busy playing and traveling and going to parks.

The babies are growing up so fast.

They still have the most wonderful smiles and they are such great little travelers and adventures. They love going to new parks and they both love swinging (one of my all time favorite Autumn activities).

I mentioned they were growing up super fast. They are both tall for their age.

They love playing together and Obi loves following his big sister around.

We make sure there is lots of dancing in our house.

We had a huge rain storm the other night and this little guy got washed down to the house. William and the kids poked at him and petted him for a while and then took him back up to the pond.

I tried to get Rosie to kiss him but she decided she wasn't interested in kissing any frogs.

Happy Autumn Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful end of Summer and a fantastic Fall. I know we already have lots of plans for this season.

Don't forget, we are 70 days till Advent and 93 days to Christmas!!

Dance Class Darlings

Rosie's dance class started back up again this month. She's graduated to the 4 to 6 year old class so there are a lot more kids in the class this year.

She really enjoys it and it's wonderful to see how she's grown up so much since last semester. She learned to skip in last semester's class... and now she's the best skipper in the class.

It's small thing to be so proud of, I know. But I am so very proud of her and how much she's grown.

Obi likes dance class too.

He really loves being like his big sister and doing everything she does.

Last semester Obi learned to walk in dance class and now he's running around with all the other kids.

I'm so proud of my babies.  They are growing up so fast and I'm enjoying them so much. They teach me so much about life.

Consignment Season

This is a very busy time of year for consignment sales. There are usually big sales every Spring and Fall. This weekend is the busy Fall weekend. There are 3 huge sales in our area that I know of.... I'm sure there are actually more.

Consignment sales are the best place to get clothes for the coming season. They are the best place to buy winter coats. Especially for growing children that need a new one every year.

They are also excellent places to buy children's Halloween costumes and Christmas dresses.

I find it a little bit hard to think about what the kids will need for Winter when it's 85 and humid outside. But I think I did pretty good this year. I even got my mom a winter coat for going out in the barn.

Rosie will tell you that the best part about consignment sales are the toys. This year I've been to two sales (so far) and I haven't brought home a single toy. That is quite an accomplishment for me because there are usually so many great ones.

The kids and I have a system. We look at clothes then we play with toys.... then we usually look at clothes again and then back to the toys.

Today we went to a sale with this amazing car that actually drove!! I didn't get a picture of Rosie's shocked face when she stepped on the gas pedal and it went in reverse because I was trying to chase the car down.

It is a pretty awesome car though.

I'm quite proud of my self for resisting buying it... although I really don't know how we would have gotten it home.

I guess we could have driven it.
